Waking up in the morning and thinking ‘here we go again’.
Same place, same people, same routine. Like a train that keeps stopping at the same station and doesn’t seem to get anywhere.
It can be hard to find a good reason to smile, a good reason to get out of bed – except that we have to. Have to get to work, have to get to school, have to look after the family, have to keep going.
Why is life like this? Why does it feel like the best train is only for certain people and we are not one of them? Like they have been chosen for some great life, and we haven’t. What do they know that we don’t? What do they do that we don’t? Why weren’t WE chosen for a great life? Why them and not us?
And, most importantly, how can we change this? What can we do to lift ourselves out of this feeling hopelessness and get back our excitement for life? How do we get to the point where we genuinely think ‘life is great!’?
It’s not that they are more special than you. It’s not that they deserve it any more or you deserve it any less. And while some people do seem to have an extra leg up, the ‘great life’ is actually available to everyone.
Every single person.
It doesn’t matter who you are, or what you have, or what you don’t have, or what family you are part of, or where you live or what you have been through. All that matters is what you do now. Today.
